One of our clients is seeking an Assistant Principle of Education to direct the delivery of educational services at a school in Roanoke.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
Through site administration, provide information and serve as a resource to others. Achieve defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining educational services in compliance with established guidelines.
* Serve as administrator of a school or schools when required and provide supervision to leadership staff at the school
* Primary responsibility for coordinating annual reports to regulatory bodies
* Primary responsibility for ensuring licensure and accreditation components are maintained, monitored, and submitted as part of the licensure and accreditation procedure
* Implement Organization's mission, goals, and objectives
* Monitor implementation of educational and behavioral programs and provide feedback and support as needed
* Provide leadership in identifying and implementing professional development programs to staff
* Maintain positive interaction and collaboration between public school division personnel, community service agencies, and higher education personnel
* Provide leadership and assistance in the development and implementation of annual budgets; * Monitor monthly financial performance against approved annual budget
* Exhibit a working knowledge of Virginia's Regulations Governing Private Special Education Day Schools and Standards of Accreditation from Virginia's Independent Special Education Facilities
* Ensure program records are maintained appropriately on an on-going basis at each site and are ready at any time for licensure and other regulatory visits
* Implement and monitor the record review process to insure compliance
* Work with Director of Education on planning for improved processes
* Oversee hiring and orientation of staff members as needed
* Market schools with external constituencies, participates in external activities and/or professional development as appropriate

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* Master's degree in a field directly related to education from an accredited college or university required
*Must have Masters in Special Education, Educational Administration, or Curriculum and Instruction preferred
* Minimum 3 years supervisory experience and teaching in special or alternative education
* Experience in teaching or leadership in public or private schools
* Prefer experience with principalships or director/supervisor level positions at central office
* Three (3) years as a coordinator or specialist in a school or at the school division level (preferred)
* Working knowledge of federal and state regulations governing the provision of special education
* Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, cultivating teamwork and fostering staff professional development and competence
* Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, community members, and staff members
* Ability to travel to multiple school sites and to conferences with some overnight stays
* Ability to drive agency vehicle
* Valid Virginia Drivers' License and proof of insurance
* Satisfactory Driving Record (less than 5 demerit points)
* Experience working with Microsoft Office
* Ability to acquire school crisis de-escalation training, First Aid, and CPR Certification
