Our Client is seeking motivated and reliable professionals to work as Shelter Monitors/Case Aides in the Fort Worth, TX area.
The Shelter Monitors are responsible for providing daily supervision, monitoring, reporting, and technical support services to clients in a residential shelter environment; screens clients for eligibility to receive the residential assistance.
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
*Intake and Discharge Responsibilities
*Provides appropriate services within agency capabilities and referrals to other resources when necessary; prepares and distributes meal tickets, laundry tokens, towels, linens, clothing, and personal hygiene items; maintains accurate records of items dispensed; collects and inventories all dirty towels and sheets from clients.
*Monitors the activities of the residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules and regulations, this includes when in chapel, recreation, and at meals; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift; prepares incident reports.
*Administers breathalyzer tests and urinalysis tests to program clients; administers sexual offender checks as needed.
*Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established policies and procedures; provides necessary crisis intervention; ensures 24-hour monitoring of clients; informs assigned Case Management Specialist or Program Manager of special problems, needs, etc.
*Works with individuals and groups as needed to enhance social skills and the ability to enjoy and function within a group living situation.
*Inspects program area daily; provides individual instruction or correction to clients regarding proper use of the facility as needed; reports damage or other maintenance needs to Program Manager.
*Periodically monitors bed assignments; wakes up clients at designated time and instructs them to collect their sheets; ensures that all residents are out of the facility by the designated time; distributes client luggage.
*Assists in serving clients meals.
Administrative Responsibilities
*Maintains client and program records daily; submits required reports and statistics; prepares written incident reports.
*Documents and monitors clients self-administration of medication as prescribed and in accordance with Client's Shelter Care policies and procedures.
*Performs data entry and light typing as required.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
* High School Diploma or its equivalent
* One year experience performing security or social service work preferred, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
